How to get the McAfee mobile app

 

The mobile app provides on-the-go protection with Secure VPN, Safe Browsing, Identity Protection, and more.

Here’s how to get it:

  1. Scan the QR code with your smartphone, and Get or Install the app
  2. Sign into the app using your My Account credentials (there’s a Forgot password link in case you don’t remember).
  3. Guided journeys will take over from there, helping you setup your protections.

Set up your identity protection and Protection Score

 

With McAfee Protection Center, you can access McAfee protection from any device, even if you don’t have McAfee installed. ​

  1. Sign in to McAfee Protection Center (https://protection.mcafee.com) with your McAfee login.​
  2. Follow the instructions to set up your identity protection and run your first dark web scan.
  3. After your identity protection is set up, your Protection Score will activate.
  4. To increase your Protection Score, address any breaches you may have and follow the action cards to set up the rest of your security.

How to setup Secure VPN on your Smartphone

 

Make sure you followed the steps above to get the mobile app.

  1. Open your McAfee app by tapping on its icon (it’s a McAfee shield).
  2. Tap on the Services tab on the bottom of the app (it looks like three squares and a diamond).
  3. Follow the steps to setup and turn on your VPN.

How to setup Secure VPN on your Windows PC

 

Your Secure VPN is available right in your McAfee Windows app. Here’s how to turn it on: ​

  1. Open your McAfee app by clicking on its icon (it’s a McAfee shield).
  2. Click on the Secure VPN tile.
  3. Click on Turn on VPN.
  4. Click on the switch on the left to turn on your VPN.
