McAfee Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

Uncompromising integrity and professionalism are the cornerstones of McAfee's business. In all that we do, McAfee supports and upholds a set of core principles. These principles form the foundation of good corporate citizenship and frame McAfee’s relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, and local communities. Through our adherence to ethical business practices, and through timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting, we continually enhance our value and maintain industry leadership in all aspects of corporate governance.

Our success is dependent on the willingness of each individual to act in accordance with these enduring principles. We must remember that misconduct by only a few can seriously discredit McAfee, harm our reputation, and reflect poorly on all of us. No success is worth the expense of compromising ethical behavior.

Our Code of Conduct sets the standard for how we work together to develop and deliver products, how we protect the value of McAfee, and how we work with customers, suppliers, and others.

The Code affirms our Five Principles of Conduct:

  • Integrity at Our Core
  • Integrity with Each Other
  • Integrity in Business Interactions
  • Integrity in Business Practices
  • Integrity with Company Assets and Reputation

Ethics and Compliance Helpline

The McAfee Ethics and Compliance Helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for employees, customers, distributors, resellers, and suppliers to ask questions, request guidance, or report a concern. If you have an ethics or compliance concern, you are encouraged to report your concern to McAfee as soon as possible. Examples of the types of concerns that can be reported include bribery and corruption, false or misleading financial or accounting practices, fraud, retaliation, discrimination, harassment or any concern that violates the law or company policy.

McAfee team members may also submit concerns to their manager or management chain, People Success, or Ethics and Compliance.

By law in the European Union, in some circumstances you can report reasonable suspicions of unlawful conduct to an external agency. Please follow this link to learn more about those agencies.

If you are a customer seeking support with product installation, billing, refunds, or other product questions please direct your inquiry to Support.

Investigation Process

Your report will be initially reviewed by McAfee’s Ethics and Compliance team, or a local reporting channel, where applicable. Please provide as much detail as possible about your concern. The timeframes for investigating reports vary depending on the case, however, we aim to operate within the following guidelines:

  • acknowledge receipt of your concern or inquiry within five business days
  • provide at least one update to the reporter throughout the investigation
  • conclude investigations, where possible, within three months

We will likely ask you follow-up questions through the Helpline to obtain more information from you. Please keep a note of your case number and password so you can keep receiving information about your report, particularly if you have chosen to report anonymously. The information provided in your report will only be shared with individuals who have a need to know or who are necessary to complete a thorough investigation and assist with any remedial actions.

Anti-Retaliation Commitment

McAfee is committed to maintaining a workplace that encourages open communication, ethical behavior, and accountability. We prohibit any form of retaliation against parties who report issues in good faith, ask questions, or participate in an investigation.

Retaliation includes any adverse action, intimidation, harassment, or discrimination against reporters or witnesses. If you believe you have been retaliated against for submitting a concern or participating in an investigation, please report it immediately through the McAfee Ethics and Compliance Helpline.

The Ethics Helpline Privacy Notice explains your privacy rights when you voluntarily contact the Helpline, what personal information we may gather from you, and how this information may be used.

Anti-Corruption Policy

As a matter of policy, all McAfee employees and third parties that perform services for McAfee are expected to comply with the following anti-corruption initiatives:

  • The U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which prohibits offering a bribe, directly or indirectly, to a non-U.S. government official or a family member of a non-U.S. government official in order to obtain or retain business or to otherwise secure an improper advantage over a competitor.
  • The U.K. Bribery Act, which creates four offenses: giving, promising, or offering a bribe; requesting, agreeing to receive, or accepting a bribe; bribing a foreign public official; and corporate failure to prevent bribery.
  • The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.

Anti-Corruption Training

McAfee employees with significant involvement in sales transactions and/or maintaining accurate books and records, as well as designated third parties, are required to take McAfee’s online anti-corruption training course on a periodic basis.
